Two guards reappeared in the hallway. Perry and Luna jumped to the wall. I remained there. Staring at the guards. They sighed and walked into the room warily. Even though they were busy locking me up, their eyes were fixed on Perry. She was smiling slightly, staring at them. Then, she leaped from the wall and screamed. The guards dashed to the door but they weren't quick enough. Perry grabbed them and dragged them up to her rafters. I didn’t see anything. But I heard muffled screams and shouts. Perry came down, delighted with herself. She turned to me and said, “We’re not going to help you escape this time.” I shrugged and I answered with a quick “I don’t need you to.” I slipped out of the chains and looked for a place to hide.
I found a bush far away enough from the pond it was okay for me to hide in. I dashed to secretive sage bush, and the last thing I saw was everybody’s mouths dropped open in shock. Then, I darted inside my leafy safe haven. Hopefully, they wouldn’t go after me. I started thinking about why they would put me in with these maniacs. Maybe it’s because we’re… different.
I thought about this for a while and grew tired. I leaned against the leaves and fell into a peaceful sleep.
